bridge of hope and promise

On the left side of my bridge there is a heart and its black. Black often symbolizes darkness and "evil" but it can also represent ideas of sophistication and elegance, mystery and fear are also contributing factors when you think about the color black. But my true definition of black is mourning. Suffering major losses of loved one in the past who represented elegance and sophistication, allowed me to be who i am today, and there is also a silver lining around the heart to show that their can always be happiness outside of your sadness so i thought this would be the most appropriate thing to honor them. The Marine Corps. seal is also on the left hand corner and represents a major part of my life that was also very sad and unpleasant memories which brings me to my next symbol of a cross. The cross is gold and also represent royalty but my experience in the pentecostal church that's exactly what i thought of them, as royals, too good to look down on people like me so it mad me become very resistant to forms of religion so that is also on the left hand side of my bridge. East New York Transit Tech High school is on the bottom left of the collage because it was the absolute lowest point in my life. To be blunt, I HATED IT. Music is the first on the top right corner which are one of my passions but not a pursuit. Whitney Houston photo at the GMA concert at central park honestly was one of the best memories ever and right next to her is balloons to represent celebration of life and enjoyment which is what I am trying to do now. Popeye was always one of my favorite characters and he represented strength and laughter. The balance scale is what i hope to become in the future, a lawyer, and it also represents what i am maintaining in my life now...Its all about balancing my social life with school and work and internships and family and friends and  my sanity. The chef hat as well as the nice piece of lasagna  represents my love for food and different cultures of food more specifically Italian and Sicilian food. The alien represents the feeling of isolation and the need to set myself apart from everyone and analyze who i am as an individual and having accepting the fact that I am different sometimes mean accepting that you might have to stand alone.

Good Art vs. Bad Art

Good Art to me is an artist that creates a feeling or a scene that lets you see through the artist eyes his emotions or his thoughts behind the actual art. Its a visual and obvious representation that shows a person is aesthetic and can use medium to create a vision that relays a message to the audience. Bad Art to me could be described as mediocre or a piece that lacks details, specifications, tones, feelings and does not give the audience a clear message. A piece that sometimes is distorted and hard to grasp the ambiance of such art.

         Most people have a difficult time understanding the true meaning of art. Is it something that can be defined? I have a difficult time understanding how a person can contain a broad spectrum of ideas, colors, shapes, sizes into one definition. Da Vinci, another influential character in this particular field, believes that art must first come within and only within and then art begins to form. That is a quote that sticks out to me because anything you do is urged or motivated by a thought or a feeling that sometimes are indescribable in words but only expressed by visual depictions.
